For more than two decades, Tiger Jam has provided guests with the ultimate Vegas experience and stands as the longest-running fundraising event that supports TGR Foundation. During the 2024 Tiger Jam, alumni Karina Ramirez and Brandon Layman will share their stories of resilience in the face of adversity and how TGR Foundation helped them to chase after their dreams.
KARINA RAMIREZ A Southern California native and Earl Woods Scholar alumna, Karina Ramirez has exemplified the transformative power of education and mentorship. A first-generation graduate from Claremont McKenna College in 2022 with a double major in economics and psychology, Karina seized numerous opportunities to broaden her horizons, including a study abroad program in Prague and participation as a Sage Corps Fellow in a global entrepreneurship program. Her fellowship facilitated experiences at tech startups, including a program in Australia. Throughout her academic journey, Karina completed five internships, notably with TGR Foundation, and served as a student mentor in Claremont McKenna’s first-generation club. Additionally, she worked in the admissions office, aiding students and families in navigating higher education. After beginning her career in talent acquisition in New York, Karina now channels her expertise into marketing at her alma mater. Her dedication to education and mentorship continues to inspire, especially within her family. Her youngest brother, Pedro, also graduated from the California State University, Long Beach class of 2024 with support from the Earl Woods Scholar Program. Hear Karina share her story and the enduring positive impact of TGR Foundation.
